Comme: socially obligatory

As the ideal place to celebrate the coming birthday of my fellow mates, the chosen Comme Restaurant had become our dinner destination.
Comme Kitchen is an informal, bistro-style restaurant with a menu that draws inspiration from the border of French and Spanish.
Amongst the meals served, I personally love Comme Charcuterie plate avocado - known as the signature dish, perfect for appetizer that you would love to devour.
The overall dining experience was pleasant from the start, while the dessert was unforgettable. As for the cons, the main plates were rather ordinary and the presentation was not as attractive as expected. A once to go only enjoyable gastronomic adventure as described. However, a genuine thanks for the dining invitation.

Lady and the Tramp

Rightly one of the Disney's most celebrated classics, Lady and the Tramp is a 1955 animated feature film produced by Walt Disney. Based on Ward Greene's short story "Happy Dan, The Whistling Dog," this feature is the romantic adventure of a pedigreed Cocker Spaniel and a freedom-loving mongrel from the wrong side of the tracks, a romance between two dogs from different walks of life.
Lady and the Tramp II: Scamp's Adventure is a direct-to-video animated film, produced in 2001 and released on February 27, 2001 by The Walt Disney Company as a sequel to their 1955 feature film Lady and the Tramp. The story centres around Lady and Tramp's puppy Scamp and his desire to become a "wild dog". Numerous elements of the film were borrowed from Lady and the Tramp. One notable reference includes Angel referring to Scamp's neighborhood as "Snob Hill", a phrase used by Tramp to describe the same place in the first film.
I watched Lady and the Tramp during my childhood and have always been regarded the movie as one of my favourites. The relations between two different worlds revolving around the main characters, the beautiful background design of the human world from the dog's perspective and the unforgettable spaghetti's scene have been an inspiration. Now I have understood well why
I always been liking bluish background, a night walk acroos the bridge and under the spotlight, as well as candle light dinner. It had been planted in my heart as a little girl more than 10 years ago.
The Lady and the Tramp II, which contains almost the same elements from its previous movie, emphasises more on the family theme, about a son longing for a freedom and it reminds me of the famous parable, the Prodigal Son. Watching the second one recently has been nostalgic.

「ガラスの仮面」 Glass Mask

I started reading the manga (Garasu no Kamen) around 1995 and just recently, I have watched
the 2005 version's anime with the total volume comprises of 51.
Best known as Suzue Miuchi's masterpiece, Garasu no Kamen was first published as manga in 1976, and the last volume ever written was vol.42, in 2006. The story has also been adopted into anime several times, including TV series in 1984 and 2005 and an OVA. As of 2006, the collected volumes had 50 milion copies in Japan, making it the second best-selling shōjo manga ever.
Simply said, I have been following this series for about 10 years. Certainly, I am still waiting for vol.43 of the manga up to today and would like to purchase the complete dvd its 2005 anime version, which is very hard to find. From the whole series, I gain lots of knowledge for both
western and Japanese literature, as well as drama & acting related information.

August Rush

August Rush, a 2007 Academy Award-nominated drama directed by Kirsten Sheridan is one of the best movies that I have ever seen. The main character, Evan Taylor (Freddie Highmore), was an 11 year old prodigy who could just listen to anything and turned it into music. I myself would entitle him, 'The Modern Day Amadeus'.
There are two scenes that serve as hints of what the boy will become. The first one was the scene where he made the gesture of the conductor in a park. It is pretty obvious that this boy will be a virtuoso conductor sooner or later. The other one is the scene where he was playing the church organ. This grandiose scene depicts the boy to be ' an angel' or ' the chosen one'. Definitely he will be great. It is evident when he was brought to Julliard; he was honored to have his music, August Rhapsody, to be performed with the New York Philharmonic Orchestra with him himself as the conductor.
In my point of view, the movie introduces various aspects of music to the viewer. Evan's mother, a famous concert cellist named Lyla Novacek (Keri Russell) symbolizes the Classical, while his father, Louis Connely (Jonathan Rhys Meyers), an Irish guitarist and lead singer from a rock band, represents the popular. Their love story has been quite sentimental and melancholy, yet it is expected for musician couple. I like the juxtaposition of the music between the couple most. Other music that has been introduced includes jazz, R&B, Techno, country, gospel, blues, 20th century instrumental music, rap, et cetera. Basically, the representation of both high art and low art has been rather balance. 'Music is everywhere, if you care enough to listen' has been the central message of the show.
In a review by USA Today, Claudia Puig commented that "August Rush will not be for everyone, but it works if you surrender to its lilting and unabashedly sentimental tale of evocative music and visual poetry." The Hollywood Reporter reviewed the film positively, writing "the story is about musicians and how music connects people." (source: wikipedia)
Although the ending was a bit of a rush, overall I felt satisfied.
There were many times when I was driven into tears as I marveled through the story. A very big applause - Bravo!

Current Journey
Accepted rapidly, I coerced myself to survive.
Numerous trials lie ahead, never ever I let myself fell apart.
Discovering new instructions, the more and more I strived.
Making valuable relations, never a lost, I regard.
The clock is ticking, ceaseless ups and downs exist.
Ambition burned within, a catalyst for the success that I owed.
Kinship which I made, encouraging me to persevere.
Reaching the mountain, the hardwork has been paid.
Realising unexpected ability to manage, I feel satisfied.
Yet, the demands increased day by day.
The respected left the place one by one.
Being burdened more and more, fatigue attacked from time to time.
The moment keeps on knocking, wondering when will be my turn.
Certainly won't be long, a new journey lies ahead.
Surely indeed, it is coming true.

Pre-Rehearsal
Good Friday & Easter 2008

SO You Would Come
by: HillSongs 1996
Before the world began
You were on His mind
And every tear you cry
Is precious in His eyes
Because of His great love
He gave His only Son
Everything was done
So you would come
Nothing you can do
Could make Him love you more
And nothing that you've done
Could make Him close the door
Because of His great love
He gave His only Son
Everything was done
So you would come
Come to the Father
Though your gift is small
Broken hearts, broken lives
He will take them all
The power of the Word
The power of His blood
Everything was done
So you would come
"The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in
Christ Jesus our Lord" Roman 6:23
Celebrating Good Friday & Happy Easter. God bless.
