Wisdom Teeth Surgery
finally I had my operation this morning to remove 4 of my wisdom teeth.
It was totally a new experience for me. I mean..getting into the hospital, being asked to
change into patient-dress, and had an injection for anaesthetic, meeting handsome oral surgeon (he is Indonesian, looks like in his late 20s and early 30s), having intravenous bottle..
Few minutes after that I just remembered being taken into the operation lounge around 9am,
then.. when I woke up, it was already 11am. I had really deep sleep and a bit later on, the nurse
served me ice-cream and jelly straight away.
Now I am currently at home. I have swelling around
the mouth now, and couldn't take hard food anymore for a week. Even porridge
was difficult to swallow, the best now to take comes to water and milk.
Thanks to the painkiller, I feel no pain at the moment.
Beside, the anaesthetic given had been very strong..it is still there now after 11 hours.
The bad thing is, I get drowsy a lot, can't talk clearly, and has been feeling very weak. Hopefully after
the anaesthetic gone, I could endure the pain. Just 6 more days to go ^^
Lastly, thanks for Livia who kept me company throughout the day for the operation. =P
Chinese New Year Dinner 2008
7th Feb 2008 - chinese new year dinner.
Location - Spicy Fish, followed by Tien Ren
Spicy Fish has been one of my fav. restaurants in Chinatown. But I couldn't have the fish and
chicken that I love that night since not everyone could take spicy food that well..
Moreover, the plum tea at Tien Ren suits my taste the best - next time I will order that again.
Detail - thx to Alan, who organised this Chinese new year dinner together. Otherwise, I 'll have
dinner alone that night. It's pretty enjoyable gathering together after work in non-working
attire. Glad that Henny and Bernard could make it that night too.
p.s. I think I will miss the food... since I have difficulties eating for a week now..

the Brasserie
When I am given a choice of which fine dining that I would like to choose, I would say.. French..
3rd of February was the 2nd time I went to have French cousine for this year (I went to Bistro Vue last month) - the Brasserie by Philippe Mouchel. The whole atmosphere was more relaxed than a fine diner, more formal than a bistro. To start of, me and my friends ordered the Brasserie's assorted charcuterie, toasted sourdough as entree. Well, not everybody would like to eat the liver.... but the presentation was really unique as you can see it in the picture.
For the main, I had chicken fricasse, which turned out satisfying as well. For the side, I love the sauteed mushrooms with Parisienne gnocchi the most. As for the dessert not to be missed, I would recommend the tasting plate.
I went for both lunch and dinner before, so I could give two thumbs up for overall feel as a customer. If you are looking for excellent gastronomic experience, this is one of the fine restaurants to choose.
